1. Design with color
Use color to change the mood of a room or to highlight its good points and obscure the bad. On counters and walls, use tiles that contrast in color or complement those used on the floor. To create custom borders, cut tile down to one-quarter size and alternate colors.
2. Design with direction
This can be done by setting the tile with a straight joint, brick joint, or using patterns such as herringbone or basket weave. To define different areas of the home, change tile sizes or direction from straight set to a 45° angle in another room, or use modular sizes to create patterns.
3. Design with size
To create multiple piece patterns, use modular tiles in two or more sizes. Change sizes within an installation to create unique effects or delineate specific areas or rooms.
4. Design with decorative factory pieces
Tile can be installed in an “area rug” configuration or a medallion can be used to reflect your home’s architecture. Or, personalize a room with the use of listellos and decors. With waterjet technology, custom designs are always possible to let you create your own masterpiece.
5. Design with relief and texture
For unique effects, use various textures together or inset different tiles and/or stones. |
